Arrested for DUI by the Orland Park Police Department?

Most of Orland Park is in Cook County, so a DUI arrest by Orland Park police usually goes to the Cook County courthouse in Bridgeview, at 10220 S 76th Ave. The small Will County portion goes to Joliet. The village lists administrative booking and impound fees, but posts no dollar amounts. Separately, the license suspension begins on day 46 after notice.

The village names booking and impound fees

On the police department page, under Resources, the village lists a link to pay municipal violations, parking tickets, administrative booking and impound fees. That tells you two things. The village charges an administrative booking fee and an impound fee. And you can pay them through an online payment portal. The page does not show the amounts, who owes them, or when they apply, so this page gives no figure.

Call the non-emergency line and ask what applies to your arrest before you pay anything.

The station and phone numbers

The police department is at 14700 S. Ravinia Avenue, Orland Park, IL 60462. The department's page lists 911 for emergencies and (708) 349-4111 for non-emergencies, and the village's main number as 708-403-6100. The tip line is (708) 349-TIPS (8477).

Orland Park's police department is also the primary signal answering center for emergency calls for police, fire and ambulance service for about 60,000 people in Orland Park and Orland Hills, per the village.

Which courthouse

Orland Park sits mostly in Cook County, with a small Will County piece. A DUI is heard in the county where the arrest happened. For a Cook County arrest, that is the Cook County Circuit Court, Fifth Municipal District, 10220 S 76th Ave, Bridgeview, IL 60455, where Jeff already handles Orland Park matters. For the Will County portion, the Will County Courthouse at 100 W Jefferson St, Joliet. The citation tells you which.

Bond

The department does not publish a bond process. Illinois no longer uses cash bail; the Will County Sheriff page explains the statutes. If the village portal asks you to pay a booking fee, that fee is not bail, and the page does not tie it to release.

Your car and the license

The village has no dedicated page about getting a towed car back after a police arrest. Its patrol and administrative pages cover animal impounds, parking citations and records instead. Ask the non-emergency line which company has the car and what the village's impound fee covers. For the license, 625 ILCS 5/11-501.1(g) starts the suspension on the 46th day after notice. The suspension page explains what follows.

Questions for the non-emergency line

  • What are the administrative booking and impound fees, and when are they owed?
  • Which tow company has the car?
  • Is my property being held, and where?
  • Which courthouse is on my paperwork, Bridgeview or Joliet?

Write down the date, the time, and the name of the person who answered. Paying a fee through the portal is a different step from answering the charge, so do not treat one as the other.
