Arrested for DUI by the Shorewood Police Department?
A DUI arrest by Shorewood police is heard in Will County, at the Will County Courthouse, 100 W Jefferson St in Joliet. The police department is at 903 W. Jefferson St. For non-emergency police matters the village says to call dispatch at (815) 725-4636. Separately, your license suspension takes effect on the 46th day after notice.
Your deadlines
- Day 46. Your statutory summary suspension starts, counted from the day you got the notice.
- Day 90. The last day to file a petition to rescind that suspension.
The village warned about wrong phone numbers
In October 2025 the Village Administrator posted a notice to the public. A concern had been reported to the police department that when people searched for the non-emergency number, an AI search tool was sending them to incorrect phone numbers. The village asked the public to use the number it publishes. That matters when someone is trying to reach the department about a family member.
The numbers on the village's own site are these. Non-emergency police matters: Shorewood Police Dispatch at (815) 725-4636. The police website footer shows the department at 903 W. Jefferson St., Shorewood, IL 60404, phone 815-725-1460. Emergencies: 911.
Your car
The Shorewood police pages list records services, accident reports, administrative adjudication and a vacation house check. They post no towing or impound release steps and no fee. Ask dispatch which company towed the car, then ask that company what it needs. Keep the tow slip, because it shows when and where the car was taken. The records page on the police site does cover administrative adjudication, which is the village's ordinance process. It is separate from a DUI.
Bond
The department does not post a bond process. Illinois no longer uses cash bail; the Will County Sheriff page explains the statutes. If someone calls claiming to be collecting bail for Shorewood police, call the published number yourself before paying anything.

Court
Shorewood is in Will County, so your court date is at the Will County Courthouse in Joliet. The courthouse guide explains parking, security and what to bring. The Joliet courthouse is where the judge handles your plea, any request for court supervision, and a trial date if one is set. The police website has a Request Copy of Report link in its records section, and a copy of the report and the test result gives Jeff something concrete to read before that first date. Ask for the report early, because records requests take time.
The license date
If you were given notice on the night of the arrest, the suspension starts 46 days out (625 ILCS 5/11-501.1(g)). Check it in the deadline calculator and read about the petition to rescind.
What to ask when you reach dispatch
- Which company towed the car, and where it is stored.
- Whether property from the stop is being held at the station.
- The date and place of your first court appearance.
Keep the answers in one place with your citation and your notice of suspension. A fresh notebook page with today's date works.
