Arrested for DUI by the New Lenox Police Department?
A DUI arrest by New Lenox police goes to the Will County Courthouse, 100 W Jefferson St in Joliet. The police station is at 200 Veterans Parkway, phone (815) 462-6100, and non-emergency calls go to (815) 485-2500. Village Hall is a different building at 1 Veterans Parkway. The license suspension is a separate matter and begins 46 days after notice.
Your deadlines
- Day 46. Your statutory summary suspension starts, counted from the day you got the notice.
- Day 90. The last day to file a petition to rescind that suspension.
Which number to call
The department's contact block lists several numbers. They are not interchangeable.
- Main office: (815) 462-6100, Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Non-emergency: (815) 485-2500
- Crime tip hotline: (815) 462-6111
- Emergency: 911
For a question about an arrest that happened overnight, the non-emergency line is the one to try. The office number is for business hours. The village also lists Village Hall at 815-462-6400, which is a different counter.
Two buildings, nearly the same address
The police department lists 200 Veterans Parkway, New Lenox, IL 60451. Village Hall is at 1 Veterans Parkway, with the same ZIP code. They are on the same road, so it is easy to arrive at the wrong one. The police business hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays.
Your car
New Lenox's police page has no towing, impound or vehicle release section, and no fee schedule. Its parking and traffic regulations page also has none that applies. The village's page does link to a way to pay a local ordinance or parking citation, which is not how a DUI arrest is resolved. So, for your car: ask the non-emergency line who towed it, call the tow company, and ask about hours and daily charges. If the car is not yours, the owner may need to come in person.

Release and bond
The village does not post a bond process. Illinois no longer uses cash bail; the Will County Sheriff page explains the statutes. Keep the paper that says when you must be in court. It is the one that matters most.
The courthouse and the license clock
New Lenox is in Will County. Your court dates are at the Will County Courthouse in Joliet. Under 625 ILCS 5/11-501.1(g), the statutory summary suspension takes effect on the 46th day after notice was given. If you have not already, enter your date in the deadline calculator.
What the test changes
625 ILCS 5/6-208.1(a) ties the suspension length to what happened at the test. It sets 12 months for a refusal or failure to complete testing, and 6 months where the person submitted and the test showed 0.08 or more. In both cases the suspension begins on the 46th day, not the day of the arrest. The arrest night and the license date are a month and a half apart, and that gap is the time to act.
Before the first call
- Find the notice of suspension and read the date on it.
- Write the name of the tow company on the first page of your notes.
- Put the court date in your phone with an alarm.
- Do not drive on a suspended license while you wait.
